Learning to row is easier than you might think. It is exciting to participate in and/or fun and satisfying as a recreation; it keeps you fit as well.

Teign Scullers operate fine boat (skinny like Olympic boats) club outings on the estuary every Saturday and Sunday and some Tuesday evenings.

We also have coastal boats (sliding seat), which go out to sea with outings, which go from Gales Beach in Teignmouth every Saturday morning.

You can find details of all the outings if you click Rowing Schedule on the left of the home page. Just email coaches@teignscullers.co.uk to ask us to book you into the outing.

We offer three trial sessions at Club Outings before we ask you to join our club. We will put you in more stable boats with more experienced rowers and help you learn the basics of good technique. We do have a "Learn to Row" session every month, which specialises in bringing on novices, but we welcome trial outings on any session.

There is also an opportunity to try coastal rowing out on summer Wednesday evenings at the main club's Novice Night. Here you can try our coastal sliding seat boats or fixed seat Seine or Gig boats as well. Details are at www.riverteignrowingclub.co.uk.

If you decide to join the annual membership cost is 27 to the main River Teign Rowing Club and a 30 supplement for Teign Scullers.

We welcome juniors, so long as they are accompanied at the outing by a parent.

You are definitely never too old to row. It is an increasingly popular with 50+ with 80 year olds still competing at a National level. It is also a non impact sport - kinder on the creaking limbs.

Teign Scullers would be delighted to welcome you and introduce you to a sport and a club with a wonderful ethos.
