Teign Scullers Rowing Club put on an excellent performance at Exeter Regatta on 2 August 2008.

Members of the fine boat rowing club, based at Archbrook on the River Teign, were proud to show off their two new boats, purchased with Awards For All Lottery funding, at this event.

The new four, rowed by Youlie Giovanovits, Jacinta Jackson, Kim Taylor, Rebecca Eastman and coxed by Mark Eastman, rowed well in the ladies' Novice Four. Mark Eastman won the men's veteran scull event. Verity Ansell and Sarah, rowing in the new double, won their first heat but were beaten into second place in the final. Youlie Giovanovits and Mark Eastman rowed over the Mixed Senior B double scull when their opponents from Exeter Rowing Club didn't turn up for the start of the race.

The club was congratulated by local MP Richard Younger-Ross on being awarded an Awards for All grant for the purchase of new equipment. Club members are delighted with their new boats and blades and pleased with their ability to put up such a good showing at a major regatta.
